Intramural Sports Guidelines for Students

Philosophy:  Fairhaven Baptist College intends its intramural sports program to be an enjoyable and competitive social outlet for students.  The intramural teams are student organizations.  They should engender team spirit and camaraderie.  The college expects a Christian testimony to be maintained in each practice, team meeting, and game.  Griping among teammates will not be tolerated.  While full participation is encouraged, this participation is a privilege, not a right.  Violation of the ideals to which the intramural sports program aspires will result in both the loss of privilege to compete and further disciplinary measures.

Teams:  There are three teams involved in the intramural program.  Each student paying the Student Services Fee (thus taking more than one class) will be placed on a team. 

Participation requirements:  No one is required to participate in any sport; however, each person is welcomed and encouraged to participate in all sports.

Fielding a team:  Each team is required to field a team for each sport.

Team apparel:  On official competition days, teams should wear tops displaying their team's primary color.  Primary colors are as follows:  Vikings--Red; Knights--Black; Cavaliers--Blue.  These tops may display their team's name but are not required to.  Of course, no objectionable material is permitted on any apparel.
